Aboard Ethan Allan

Much cooler with a chilly breeze. Hope the report of two degrees below zero on the 30th degree lat. (New Orleans) is shot with baloney. By making 219 today we were 220 from the bar where we pick up the river pilot. (Again, queer mathematics) Should be lying in the river off N.O. tomorrow night and dock Saturday afternoon.
Don’t know how I’ll get home yet—hitch-hike, bus, train. Depends on the weather and date. We may not be paid off for several days as we go to two docks and paying off at the first would necessitate signing on a new crew to take her to the second dock.
Beat at bridge again.
